Before I focused on illustration I was a graphic designer full time and a musician as a side hustle. I could definitely talk at length about my career choices and how I ended up where I am today. It might be beneficial to others coming up… I like helping younger generations where I can. I’m a father to two girls so the parent in me naturally wants to encourage being creative as a viable career choice. There’s never been a better time than now… The opportunities are endless.

We recently welcomed animation directing duo Paloma to the NERD roster. Made up of Alicja Jasina and Lucas Borrás, Paloma is the meeting of two diverse, creative minds. Alicja, a Polish-born 2d animation director and motion graphic designer, has a background in fine art and illustration. Lucas, who is already represented by NERD, artfully blends live action and animation in his mixed-media approach to storytelling.

Together, Paloma thrive to create imaginative and visually poetic storytelling in a wide range of mediums, knowing no boundaries. With such an exciting and inclusive ethos behind their work, we couldn’t wait to get to know Paloma a little more…

Shay Hamias animation selected for Bodleian Library exhibition

Shay Hamias Matter of Jerusalem Jaffa 1920x1200 1 - NERD Blog - Shay Hamias animation selected for Bodleian Library exhibition

‘The Matter of Jerusalem’ directed by NERD Productions’ Shay Hamias ‘was recently selected to be displayed at the Bodleian Library at The University of Oxford as part of the ‘Redesigning the Medieval Book’ display, alongside the original fifteenth-century manuscript it is based on.  The exhibition explores the origins of early English graphic design and features works from a selection of artists as well as over 60 manuscripts and objects from the Bodleian collections.
